Summer begins

Summer has officially started, even if the calendar doesn't agree.  School is out for Colin and today is his first full day.  I have an "entertainer"  lined up (don't worry, she is safe).  Colin refuses to call her a babysitter since he is 12 years old.  A going to be sophomore girl is watching him a couple days a week so he can go to the pool.

So while I head off to work, my son will be having lots of fun playing, swimming and just relaxing.  Why didn't I become a teacher?

The Man in my Room

I have a man that stays in my bedroom every night.  He is a good man.  He is lovable, cheerful and brings me lots of joy each time I look at him.  He sits quietly in my chair every day.

Guess where I was??

The other night I "worked" someplace.  Can you guess where?

Here are your clues.........

He helped me too.........until it was time to.............play baseball.

And it's a good thing he didn't help all night because he would have scared the customers away.

You guessed it.......concession stand at the ole' baseball game.  It was more fun than sitting on the concrete bleachers. And it was a whole lot more fun this particular evening because it was about 32 degrees outside.  It's nice and warm inside the little concession where the popcorn, hot dogs and nacho-cheese warm you up!  But I didn't eat any of it.  No sir.

I want this.........

Since we all know I don't already have plenty of pictures.......I just want you to know I want this.  Like really, really want this.  However, it is a splurge so it must wait and who knows how long that wait will be.  It won't be nearly as large of a splurge as this, but nonetheless something frivolous (but so stinkin cute!)!

You can find this cutie-patutie here.............Amazon
And if you want to see the cool things it does, go ................................here.

For those of you that still don't understand, it's the 2011 version of this:

Printing Photos

Where do you get your photo's printed?  Do you stay local and go to Wal-mart or Walgreens or do you use an on-line shop?  I have always used Sam's but I am way behind in getting pictures printed so I wanted to find a place cheaper than Sams.  I found Clark Color Labs on-line and their photos cost .08 cents to print and they had 40 prints for free and if you spend $10.00 the shipping was free.

I ordered 207- 4x6 prints and 1- 8x10 and the price was $13.67.  I think that's a steal!  My e-mail confirmation said once they are printed I will have them in 3-4 days.  I guess we'll see how well things turn out but I hope so because I would love to use them again at those prices.  Their price was cheaper than Snapfish and Shutterfly and even Sam's!

I had half of 2010 photos to get printed but now they are done.  Next will be 2011.  I decided to not get every picture printed because I don't scrapbook every picture.  I have been reading an article on Ali Edward's blog about scrapbooking and preserving your pictures.  I decided digital pictures are just as good as printed so I won't get everything printed as I have in the past.  Not to mention I must store them all and they only end up in a shoe box so what's the point?  I printed only those I wanted to scrap.  Ugh...... 207 pictures are coming that need scrapbooked.

I better get busy and stop blogging.  I still have 2009 I must finish scrapbooking in my Project Life album.  Still love the album and the shortcuts it has to offer.  Here are a few pictures from my album.

One thing I really love about this album is you can change it up and do whatever you want.  Since it is just a 12x12 album with 3 rings, you can add other page protectors if you want.  I had 2 old photos of Dad playing baseball that I wanted to incorporate into Colin's albums so I just scrapped a 12x12 page.  Nothing is right or wrong with this album.  It can be whatever you want it to be.

I'm burning the daylight hours so I better start scrappin'.  I'm so happy to have my 207 photos printed, but I'm so sad to have my 207 photos printed. :)

Baseball still going strong

We are about mid way through our baseball season.  We haven't won a lot of games, but we are still playing well as a team.  Colin has been whacking that ball.  He got a triple hit this past week.  He was very excited.

Seems like most of our games are freezing cold and even rainy.  I guess it is Spring in the Midwest.  In fact today we have a make-up game and it's raining now.  Guess we'll see if the rain out game gets rained out again.  Gotta love baseball.

Breakfast of Champions

Colin was very specific on the Eve of Mother's Day that HE wanted to make me breakfast in the morning.  I was to stay in bed until he got up.  (Gotta love that thinking)  I got up about 2 hours before he did but I enjoyed my coffee and didn't eat a bite.

When he got up he asked me what I wanted to eat as he peered into the freezer.  Options:  Pancakes or French Toast Sticks.  I opted for French Toast Sticks.  He "baked" them for me and plated them up.  He wanted to warm the syrup but that required a bit too much effort.  So I got the pretty bottle.

Breakfast was very yummy, but it always is when you have someone else cook it for you (or nuke it).  He even cleaned up the dishes.  Such a good man.
